Default Sub and Amp hook up

My friend just sold me 3 10" subs in a box with a 1200 watt xplod amp for 160, pretty good deal if you ask me. I think im going to take out two of the subs and sell them and just keep 1 10" for my car. My question is how should i go about wiring them. Ive done a few cars before, but with the whole 6 disk changer and the fact that we already have an amp powering the back speakers, would i have to take all of that out to hook these up. I want to try and connect it all to my stock head unit to cut down costs and look of the car, and keep the 6 changer in there. Any way this is possible? Some guy on crutchfield said i needed an adapter where id plug all of my speaker wires and sub out/inputs into it and then connect it to the deck? does that sound right? Thanks for the help.

Yeah I've wired a bunch of cars but they were all after market HU's. For somethin like this you'd be better off takin the money you saved on the speakers and the money you got back sellin a couple of them and take it to a car audio place and have them do it

just follow this if you dont want to get rid of the stock head unit. i did mine last weekend http://www.a4mods.com/index.php?page...tml&category=4
depending on what HU u have, the wiring may be a little different, but its still easy

i didnt have to take out the HU. they have a tool that can be used to take out the unit, but i just spliced into the back speaker (drivers side). i spliced the remote, so the amp isnt always on (it only comes on when the HU is turned on), and the rear speakers. you splice the rear speaker to a Hi-Lo converter which then goes to rca, which will plug right into the amp

yes. the other amp i have, is strictly for the sub. the wiring for the stock amp, was left alone, just spliced and i had the remote wire to the new amp, and the 4 wires for the 2 speakers, running to my hi-lo converter (depending on your hi-lo, you may only need to splice the 2 wires running to the one speaker, but my hi-lo had 4 wires which is why i spliced both speakers). then from the hi-lo i went from the rca out to the new amp's input. you will also need to run a power cable from the battery to the amp. i ran mine the same as the DIY (right up the middle, to avoid removing the panels under the door). and the last thing is the ground cable, i managed to find a spot under the trunk carpet. you just have to remember to sand down the paint, so you get a good metal to metal contact.
