PES - Performance Engineered Systems, LLC

^This is the company that used to offer the G1, which was later replaced by the G2 supercharger. Both are now hard to come by, and its pretty well known that the GIAC tune originally written for and included with those blowers was notorious for running lean and snapping rods. If you can even find a used one(most I've seen sold for ~$2k), the $:hp ratio is so out of whack that it makes them not cost effective. Many people have tried, but GIAC no longer supports that platform, so don't bother asking them to write you a custom tune. If you can find a G1/2 kit for a reasonable price, you could probably make it work with AEM or 034's standalone engine management but neither are cheap. Only guy I've ever known to have one gave up and sold it when he couldn't find anybody to write a tune for him.

You could also do a custom supercharger, but you'd pretty much be on your own to find parts and a tune.

A third option would be 034's single turbo kit using a PTE 6262 with a slew of S4 parts that you'd be required to source yourself. I wouldn't call that cost-effective either though, as the rumors of the price of the kit are anywhere from $3-5k. See this thread for reference.

Bones was justified in his frustration, as this is one of the most commonly asked questions on this forum. All of the information I posted came from the FAQ sticky at the top of the B5 forum and the all-mighty Google machine.

No problem. Apologies for all the unnecessary comments, but please understand that we are all here to share information. Sometimes, questions get asked so often that it really becomes irritating. Its kind of an internet "etiquette" to search first before asking. Again, our apologies for making you feel unwelcome. We've all done it.

Also, feel free to curse on this forum. We don't mind. All you gotta do is say 'earmuffs' to him. Earmuffs. Then you can say '****', '****', 'bitch', whatever you want.

****! *****!

I'm just trying to make a point, you don't have to celebrate it, Frank.

Why would anyone want to try to supercharge an engine that already has 10.3:1 compression ratio for street use? It's going to detonate like crazy until it self-destructs in short order, even on premium unleaded gasoline. You'd need to run some kind of racing fuel with octane rating well above 100.

people drive supercharged 2.8s all the time DD with no problems. you obviously can't run crazy boost or anything. You don't need racing fuel just because its supercharged
