Default Suspension information

before anyone gets mad that there is another suspension thread out here, I was thinking that we could have one place for everyone to look at for all their suspension needs comparing all the options out there. (if there is one out there sorry...could you send the link?)

We have a write up about BT and such, so why not have one about suspension options from springs and shocks to C/O's.

I know im curious about all the C/O's out there. but there are so many options and all the website say theirs is the best.

So if someone with alot of knowledge or a lot of people want to help that would be sweet.

but what C/O are comparative, are they stiff, soft, do they make the car bounce and buck, are they just for show like the VMAXX's, how low can each set take you, and what is the purpose of going springs and shocks and then C/O's?

Thanks guys and I hope this takes off, cause Im kinda tired of trying to search for each type from Koni to H&R to Tein and so on...

Default RE: Suspension information

STaSIS coilovers:
Much stiffer than stock, bounce less than nuespeed race over bilsteins (when you press on my trunk, the car barely moves, when you press on that setup you can get the car to bounce a bit). I'm at just under 25.5" ground to fender and I have >2" of threads left on my coilovers.

The only reason to go with coilovers over a spring/shock combo is for ride height adjustability and to be able to corner balance your car. Another reason is that some coilover companies (I know stasis does, and the vogtland GT's from startup do) have the dampening adjusted to match the spring rate, and to work well with the weight of the car. spring/shock combos aren't tuned to work as well with the dynamics of the car and that can have negative effects such as the bouncy ride or hitting the bumpstops when turning.
