suspension question...?
ok so i have this unbelievable squeak coming from somewhere on my drivers side front suspension. i noticed that the upper link towards the bumper is moving around quite a bit when i turn the wheel, but its hard to tell if thats the piece thats making the squeaking sound. i don't want to replace everything because i don't want to dump a ton of money into it, or time for that matter so i just want to replace the one piece and then just do a kit over the summer. my question is, can i disconnect the ball joint from the hub while the car is just sitting, without it imploding or something stupid, just to see if that is the piece thats causing the squeaking?
also, if i want to remove the bolt where it connects to the shock tower, i'm going to have to unbolt the shock tower and move it forward a little bit to get the bolt out of the bushing, right? that's doable without taking the shock tower out and disconnecting everything else? i'm just trying to find a way to do this quickly without going through the whole ordeal of doing the entire front end.
