Default swapping symphony radio

The display on the symphony radio in my 2000 is shot. I found a replacement but i need to know if its a drop in replacement, or if there are codes Involved. My searches all find info on aftermarket, which I'm not wanting. thanks

You will almost definitely need the code for the replacement.

You can just swap faceplates, it's 4 screws and some clips holding it on. Won't take more than 5 minutes, it's that easy.

These radios are really easy to work on, after taking the faceplate off it's about half a dozen small screws and the whole board holding the buttons and LCD comes off, that way you can mix and match the best parts of 2 radios (screen from one, buttons from another, etc). I've put together more than a few Frankenstein radios using parts from 2-3 different ones.

Good to know, because mine is going to need some work sooner than later.

Thanks for the info.
