Is there a write-up for 12v timing belt change?
I've had the whole ECS belt kit sitting in my room for the past month waiting for my teacher to let me bring my car in and its been too long does anyone have the DIY for the 12v? The only one i can find is the 1.8 write up.
Go to www.12v.org - it's specific for the 12-valve engine, and they have a Tech area that I believe covers the job.
Is the cam locking tool a must-have for the job? I ask because a friend got a 96 that is ready for the t-belt job, and he was wondering whether it had to be used. From the looks of the cam sprockets, it seems that a piece of steel stock could be drilled and used to lock the cams (that is what the tool appears to be, in essence).
