Default Thermostat

I am doing the timing belt change now, and want to change the thermostat.
What is the OEM temp setting? Should i use lower temp (turbo upgrade installed)?

Does sound 87 deg C =189 deg F sound right for the factory setting?
My preference would be 170 deg F or 77 deg C.
Comments?

I wouldn't really like going lower than 180, personally. 180-190 is a good range, in my opinion. 170 is probably going to be fine, but I don't really think it's going to provide much of a benefit.

I agree - many guys upgrade the car on a stock temp thermostat. Probably not going to do much to help you out by changing that temp rating on the new thermostat.
