Thinking about buying this A4
Hey, Thinking about joining the "Audi club"

1998 AUDI A4 2.8 QUATTRO SILVER 6 CYLINDER 15,559mi. 5 SPD., MOONROOF, LEATHER, HEATED SEATS, BOSE SOUND, AWD

Only 16K miles.

How much would you pay for this?

It's at a dealer.

Not sure the background yet. I was going to drive it this week.

It's listed at $15,9, but the blue book I think is a couple grand less than that.

Obviously 16k miles is low, but I don't know what kind of premium I should put on that if any. Because it probably sat around a lot and stuff can happen to a car in those situations...

Isnt the the record for the odometer kept in the ecu from

what Ive heard they can only change the miles once and only forward but if their a shady dealer they could have just not corrected it if they replaced the ecu....

but who knows not trying to scare yah but im just scepticle of a 16k mile 98

Id check carfax and see if its been through alot of owners or whatnot if it look okId buy it

I will.

Some old lady might have had it or something.

My mother in law had a 10 yr old car the only had like 30k on it, so I know in certain situations it is possible to have that low of miles.

A girl I work with has a 95 Saab Convert with only 36k miles on it. It was her dad's second car, and it was rarely driven.

My concern is when stuff sits around and does not get used, it can develop leaks and other problems, and from what I have heard Audi's are very expensive to get fixed.

Just pay the blue book on it, or maybe a little more. Dealers are usually aight about complying with that.

As for mileage, a neighbor of ours had a '74 Corvette with 5,000 original miles. He had taken a picture every single year since he bought the car of the odometer with the date and its all totally documented. So anything can happen
