Thinking about buying a high milage '97 A4
umm by m5 im guessing u mean b5? and my 96 has 161k when i bought it and the car rins fine.... so far lol... the main thing i guess from what i see everyone else talk about is timing belt, and wheel bearings... either ask about that or check urself if u know how
not a bad car, pretty reliable. If the timing belt hasnt been done for a second time, its time for that which is going to cost you a good amount of money. Just check for basics, oil leaks, tire wear, busted CV joints, and all that good stuff that you would check on any car.
An A4 with that high of mileage is probably on the brink of needing some work done. It would be near the second time around of replacing timing belts, control arms, tie rod ends and wheel bearings. If alot of stuff hasn't been replaced recently, then expect to throw down some cash for repairs....which you should have left since the car is only 2 k lol
And always ask why they are getting rid of it, always puts the seller on the spot.
