Hey guys whats up,
I recently bought a 99 2.8L audi a4. My father told me that the tie rods need to be replaced. I have heard there is a recall on 99 a4 tie rods and was curious if any of you would know if this is true or have experienced the replacement. There are 165,000 miles on my car and it is in excellent shape.

 

I just did mine 3k miles ago. Easy job, but a pain if they are on good, and I did it while it was 30 degrees out. But you need an alignment after. Make sure to put anti-seize on the new ones for the next time.

 

Go to audi - give them your VIN - they will be able to see if your car had that "recall" done to it. Not sure if they still do it or not - usually those things have a start and end date. but yeah - easy job
