Time belt isn't that hard at all. I did it with just a diy and no mechanic experience. Turned out great. Even flushed my power steering out while at it. Takes a Saturday and maybe a Sunday too

Isn't it usually the tensioner that goes before the belt?

A8 timing belts are probably the biggest front end pain and would laud Audi to have designed their engines with them. Understand that dealer service job security though.
