Default Tire size

Until today, I've been riding on 225/40/18, 5mm spacers in front, 10mm in rear. I got new tires last week and surprisingly, 3 of 4 have developed bubbles in the sidewall. I've decided to get a set of 17x7.5. What is the best fitting tire( looks and "performance") and would I have any problems with my spacers?

225-45-17 is pretty much ideal. I think 215-45-17 is slightly closer in size to the stock 16" tires but the 225 gives that much more width for grip.

^^^ That's what I have on mine. A little more agreessive aspect ratio, a little wider, but no wheel spacers to put more wear on our delicate wheel bearings.

I'm running 225/45-17 on a 7.5" wide wheel. Pretty meaty but I like the look. How low is your car?

I've got stock non sport suspension so my car is like a monster truck. I do plan on lowering it to have a smaller wheel gap once I get my 17" but I don't know how low it should be.

A 225-45-17 isn't gonna rub unless you really dump the car. You'll be fine.
