Took the instrument cluster off 1997 A4 2.8L,to replace a bulb and the odometer now doesn't work. Anyone have any ideas.

I'm trying to replace a bulb on my instrument cluster but I can't get that ****** out....
I have the Haynes manual with instructions telling me to remove the 2 screws below the cluster and then just pull it out. It's the biggest PITA!
