right where he is pointing is the leak.. its coming from the top of the transmission.. so my guesses is its the main seal..

damn. so you still gonna take it into the stealership??
[me and my buddy fixed a main seal once we were re-building i think it was a 1978 F-350 in auto class in highschool. the dumbass that put the tranny on didnt put the main seal on! so we had to take it out, put the seal on and put it back in! we did it in like 90 mins!!] it was cool!!

you think there's any way you could get the dealership to do it for free? the seal is not supposed to go after 5k miles. there was a guy on here with a yellow a4 that had the same problem as you actually. i don't remember what he did though. and there was another guy with a black a4, not you. i can't remember their names as i haven't seen them on in a long time

if i can get it for free by showing them the records. then that would be great!

by the way i have some kinda bad news. I was talking to my dad who has been working on cars since dinosaurs roamed the earth and he said its more likely that the internal pump on the transmission made this happen. I really hope not for you sake and in some ways it doesn't sound like it. Cross your fingers for improper install.
