Default Audi transmission repair

Well i got the code P0717 witch is input turbine speed sensor intermittent /no signal. I pulled the pan and saw the oil was badly worn replaced the filter and put in new fluid Autozone recommended ATF fluid but after doing some research i noticed AT with built in differential use synthetic 75-90 so i put that in. Started the car up and looked out for leaks....all good...drped the car and tried shifting from P tp N and all the way down the line no clunks...yeahhhh...so after it warmed up (precaution) i took the car out for a drive. Awesome no clunks it accelerated allot better and pulled strong with no slips. ther car ran fine for about 2 days when i suddenly got the same code again.P0717...I cleared the code and it ran beautifully again. I called a friend of mine who owns a shop and said the sensor is in the valve body... im confident in pulling it down again and replacing the switch....does anybody know where it is located.....please help

well my dad just got off the phone with audi... they said they couldn't find any leaks... so they have my car outside running..... right..... well lets see... car sat outside for exactly a week leaking trans oil... maybe uhh THERES NONE LEFT! so my dad told them to fill it and check again.. thats the whole reason we got it towed to the dealer cause there was little to no fluid left

sorry to hear your troubles. i just had the similar problem with my car. My mechanic didn't replace the torque converter screws when he went to fix the main seal and those orginal bolts were stripped so the TC kept smacking the back of the engine. Long story short i had to drop 3000 for a rebuild on the Triptronic. I have the same feeling as you get rid of it and buy a 5 speed. But after you sink 3000 into it and its only worth 8000-9000(in canada) you can't just sell it after that you have to drive it around to get some money back.

Funny thing is my car looks exactly like yours. Its black, trip, same rs4 rims, same tint. Yours just sits lower, what you used to lower it?

ya there are some dumb ***** at the dealership. at least the dealership i'm near has a reputable mechanic that we request when we need service done. tell your dad to be very careful with those ******** there because they will make you spend a lot more money than you need. one good thing to do if you question their service is call up audi of america
