ok, let me say this again........ i had the same problem, took a hand saw, cut it off and the new blade will slide on so tight that you won't need it....... plus i am looking into an s4 front and sides.. so i will mess with that again when i get there
but if you just want to be safe, after cutting it off, drill out the screw and put a new one in

yea i finally got mine on today and had to use a hammer to get it on all the way so that screw basically does nothing until it gets old and actually holds it on cause its so tight it doesnt move but finally my car looks good again and not missing or falling off trim thanks again guys

Where do you find replacement trim for the bottom of the doors for an A4? I have a '97 with those moldings that need replacing.....
