on a recent trip into town my airbag light came on. im guessing that it is a sensor and not the actual airbag. then i go to fill up my car and i try unlocking my car doors so i can put gas in and it doesn't unlock. open up my car and use the switch inside of the car. nothing. so i get screwed over and make it home magically. get out of my car not thinking about it and press the lock button. and the locks work at that time???? why do i have a car that doesn't want my gas?

 

airbag light if you have a vag read for the code sometimes the wires under the seats can come unplugged. As far as unlocking did you try to put the key in the door or trunk and unlock it? My battery dies in my remote every two months so I get used to just randomly sticking it in the trunk to lock and unlock my doors!

 

There is an emergency release cable in the trunk by the gas door behind the trunk carpeting - I think it's red. Pull that to manually release the gas door lock, and at least you won't get stranded.

 

so my car is starting to do this locking unlocking nonsense again. i have learned that i can push down the lock on all of the doors except the drivers door i have to lock the drivers door with my key? but then a few hrs later everything works?

 

It's a safety feature you have to lock the car with the key so you won't lock the key in it!

 

I press the button to lock the doors. the lights dim and the security red light by the lock flashes but it doesn't lock
