Triptonic Not Working!

Exclamation Triptonic Not Working!

yes i know i should have a manual transmission but i dont and triptonic is at least somewhat close.....but mine just quit working today!? anyone have any ideas on why that happened?

I have heard that the magnets can come loose that make the tiptronic function.

^yes that is often the case, there is a DIY for the magnet around here somewhere

How does the dash led screen react when you flip the shifter to Tip mode? Does it look to be in reverse display?

There are several reason why the tip stops responding. The magnet is a common one, water in the TCU is another, faulty harness, mine even quit working for a month after I gave my car an engine wash (forgot to cover a couple sensors)...

yeah my friend spelt some soda on a long trip to the beach in the actually shifter i cleaned it up really fast and it worked after that but the next week it quit so i guess i haft to take it apart and clean the magnet but i can figure out how to get it apart

There are two magnets that can come loose, both attached to the sliding boot at the base of the shift stalk. I recent posted some pictures and a description of how to remove the tiptronic tip-gate here

Didnt work the dash is differnt on the 98
