Default Troubleshooting headlight washers

Hi.

I've been suspecting that my washers have gone bad, but I have no idea where to start troubleshooting... They don't open when i start the window washer with full lighting. not even when i hold the switch for 10s +.

I can easily pull out the washers from the socket, and they move nicely manually.

Can the wiper relay be the fault for them not working?

Have you checked the pump to make sure it works? Good place to start.

+1

Im not certain if there is a fuse for the headlight washers but you might want to check that out too.

Another thought. You should not be able to "easily" pull the washers up. They are spring loaded and should offer pretty good resistance and snap back down.

X2. How "easily can you pull them up? Mine didn't work either, bought a new pump and they work great now. And I do believe there is a fuse.

Okay. Thanks. Will look for a fuse. Where is the pump located?

What I ment with easy, is that they are movable in a way that seems normal. Sure there's a spring pulling it so it snaps down, but I can still pull them up easy.

Fuse should be under a panel on the left side of the dash that you can get at with the driver's door open. Pry the cover off. There is a fuse guide on the back of the panel. Most likely a bad or missing pump but a bad fuse would be sweet and cheaper Can you see if there is even a pump on the reservoir? That would be the first step. These pumps get cracks in them and start leaking so maybe the hole for it is just plugged and the headlight washer hose not connected to anything.

Anyone know if there is a relay related to the washers?

Should have 389 on it. At least that's what it is for the '97.
