I'd start with plugs and coilpacks... from there it could be a vaccuum leak... then on to other things.
Is it throwing a CEL? If not, this is will be a straight guessing game.

i know that the previous owner bought one coil pack and tried it on each cylinder and it made no difference i don't know about the plugs. And yes it is throwing a cel i dunno what one though. thanks for the help. Also wasnt there a recall on the coil packs by audi i read somthing about it somewhere?
take it to an autozone type place and have the CEL checked. the code will help alot towards resolving this.
simply moving the pack may not help the problem. proper way to do that is to check the CEL for a misfire on cyliners, say, 4... then swap the pack on cylinder 4 with cylinder 1... clear the code and see of you get a new CEL on cylinder 1. then you know that pack is a bad pack.

makes sense. Will do the autozone thing, gotta trailer it 30 miles to do it, man i hate living in a small town. Again thanks for the help and ill let you know what comes up.
you dont need to take your car there to do it. you just need to rent it which is free with a deposite and have it scan at home. once you have the code just search it up in the forum. my guess is your maf which is a common problem for it to fail and cause this type of symtoms.
