it still has the stock turbo on it, but i got a 12 LB K03 turbo thqt i want to put on ASAP, but i didn't wanna put it on and ruin that one too.as far as the shop where i took it, i went in to have them replace my wheelbearing and i asked about the turbo and the guy took a look at it and said he doesn't know from just a quick look but it isn't bad.

ok, thank you guys fer the help, i'll see if it is that arm moving or ceized up, cause i looked and it's not broke, well not where it connects to the bigger piece that you welded it to at least.but i'll check if it moves back and forth though.

with the 12 LBS turbo do i have to get a boost controler?

You wouldn't want to use a 12lb spring with the stock turbo regardless of a tune.

Whatever floats your boat. You won't be using the turbo/engine to it's maximum efficiency with that. Use a bleeder typle mbc and keep the n75 plugged in electronicaly to keep from getting a cel.

You want the turbo to spool quick since your pulling a 3k+pound car with a 1.8l Casual driving will be annoying. Youll constantly feel like it's not enough power because of the delayed wastegate operation, and when you get into it it'll feel like an over reaction because of how fast a k03 builds boost (when you let it).... Something like that... The boost conrtoller can help with that, but only to a point and you don't want to overboost.

Im 17 and new to everything, and im pretty much going in "blind folded" so far i have put a K&N Cold air intake and strut tower brace bar, i was going to use a ECM controler that i got but i hear that you shouldn't use it with turbo cars, so i basicly got it for nothing, but, im just trying to make a fun car, meanwhile learning.

Good luck with it. No way to use an ecm controller with an AEB engine that I'm aware of. Even with newer engines i dont know of any ecm controllers other than lemiwinks on a laptop that can work w/a VW product.

AEB is the engine code. This just identifies what 1.8t a person has and that just depends on the year. They are all pretty much are the same just a few small changes. You should just start by getting a chip for the car best bang for your buck and much safer then controlling the boost w/o adding fuel.
