Maybe I'm smelling something from outside of the car near the fresh air vents?
The vents and a bit around the doors and windows and stuff because they're not perfectly sealed (though the amount that gets through them isn't a lot)

What a great reply!! Succinct and very informative. I didn't know that there was a cabin air filter.

Thanks!

Hey, if you want a new one, I accidentally ordered two! I've got an extra lying around. I found mine hadn't been changed over the car's entire lifespan. 175k on a cabin air filter! It was gross.

I know this may seem weird, but i was having fueling issues, and it was because that pre filter after the intake duct was full of debris from 135k of driving. Cleahed it with a vacuum, reset the ecu with a battery pull and its like a new car! I can take a pic if needed tomorrow.

That doesn't make sense man. The cabin filter, or the engine filter?

He probably changed the cabin air filter, but clearing the ECU fixed something, though probably only temporarily.

true. Cabin air intake has absolutely no relation to engine air intake

No sorry, I'm talking about the original post, due to lack of performance. And im not talking about either filter, Im talking about that mesh screen at the entrance to your airbox.
