No such thing for his year, that is for the B6 cars not his 99. Plus a chip K03 wont come anywhere near 250hp. lol

im on the same page as Jabba here, I have not put together a budget for this yet, but I definitely have this upgrade in my planes for this upcoming spring. I too wanna achive atleast 250whp. But one thin I also wanna keep is my very quite idle. You can't even tell my car is on sometimes, so quiet that i turn the key to start and its already on. Thank god the car has that defeat feature where if its already on, it wont crank the starter, cause serious would of probably gone through like 3 already and possible a flywheel.

Anyways, what setup would most closely satisfy this need? (sorry jabba, don't mean to intrude on you thread here )

Im assuming a minimum will be a gt2x according to this great faq; https://www.audiforums.com/forum/b5-models-69/1-8t-turbo-upgrade-information-93439/

which would be the best chip tune for this setup?? As i said, my priority rides on smoothness. I completely hate erratic idle, so i would really really like to avoid this.

also, to achieve this goal (atleast 250whp), are any internals necessary to be replaced? i would like to avoid this also, but, if i gona put money on more hp, i dont wanna **** my money where my engine will break down a year after the mod. Also, key making decisions will be if the BT is bolt on, as I will be doing all of this myself, except for the chip tune ofcourse.

Hope this post wasn't too long!!!!???

I would suggest the GTRS, you could get 250whp on pump gas even with the stock manifold.

I would suggest a Unitronics tune and you can get that along with injectors and the Elim kit as a package.

No you dont need to upgrade the internals at that power level. Rods are needed once you start going over 300whp.

Elim kit is a bolt on kit, even works with the same cat/down pipe used for the K03 and even allows you to use the stock air box giving you a 100% OEM look.

Official APR can not, but if you find a tune shop, its just about the same thing. The ATW engine is going to do about 230hp with bigger injectors and chip. (bigger than the APR set up would have for a B6)

Only way anyone is going to pull 230hp out of a K03 is on race gas and believe me I know seeing that I pretty much have the record on highest hp K03 for the A4 1.8t and that was done on my 2000 ATW. lol

I made about 250hp on 104 octane pushing 20psi with a custom GIAC tune. Funny thing is that was done on the stock injectors and stock 4 bar fpr. Like I said, there is no reason for larger injectors for a K03 on the B5 cars and this is because the B5 has a rising rate FPR while the B6 cars have a static FPR. So the B6 cars need to go larger injectors when the tuners push the boost higher then normal, this is why the tuners offer a stage 1+ (injector) tune for the B6.

Never got a chance to dyno my custom street chip for 91 octane and pushed 26psi, but dont think it was anywhere near 230hp.
