Default Turn Signals Question

I finally got my clear side markers the other day, put them in and I love them. I noticed the bulb is clear, so the only reason why it would blink amber is because of the old amber side marker, so then it blinked an ugly yellowish color. So I picked up a couple amber bulbs at Autozone and popped them in, then later today sprayed them with some silver paint so they blink amber but I don't have that "egg yolk" look.

Now what I'm wondering is can I spray my front turn signals? I know they got hot when they're on with the headlights, so would the paint make something bad happen?

You should be fine with that. The bulbs do heat up but they're not usually blinking all ghat long. And if you want the extra assurance you can use Duplicolor Engine Enamel - tge 500-degree paint at AutoZone. That'll work fine (it's what I use on my calipers).

Yeah you should be ok. If you're really concerned about it, you could pick up some stealth bulbs from Achtuning or ECS, but I'm pretty sure thats just silver paint too lol

ImTheDevil - I was worried because when at night they would be on all the time, but like you said I could buy that paint. I'll look into it thanks!

CCA4 - I've seen those bulbs around, it isn't a bad idea but if I can do it for free I will.

Thanks guys.

I recently did the CC mod and have been putting off replacing the bulbs. Worse there is a crappy aftermarket bulb on one side, so they don't even match. I would be cautious about painting the bulbs, they run all the time and do get pretty hot, but many people on the forum have just painted them and I don't believe anyone has had a problem.

I ordered these last week and should have them in on Tuesday.

These are another option too, for the price, I went with the ones ECS offered because I had to order something from them anyway, but these look nicer.
