Default ugh, magnaflow 14861

hey, i got a magnaflow 14861, and i just thought id post on this subject.

DO NOT GET THIS MUFFLER.... PLEASE!!!

It doesnt really look like this (depending on how you look at the picture)
Name: 14861__1.jpg
Views: 224
Size: 14.0 KB

which is what the stock pic looks like ^^, and in my head i see the tips being like this \/ \/

Name: borla_single_oval_rolled_angle_cut_.jpg
Views: 188
Size: 6.5 KB

with the top sticking out a little further than the bottom, but its not... they are just ovals...

this isnt so bad, now that i look at it i see it, but at first i thought that it was like the second pic down.

besides that.... it BARELY fits inside teh stock opening... and by that i mean it touches both sides....

so i dont recommend getting this muffler if your looking... if your looking i would go with

http://www.hottexhaust.com/search_re...&btnSearch.y=0

that one... its exactly 1 " skinnier, so it SHOULD fit perfectly. and use that website too!!!

EVERYWHERE else its like $200 for this one, but if you use the cupon code hottsavings you save 25% or something like $40 i think comes out to 153 or so and they have free shipping too!

I can honestly say that the 14816 tips are WAY to big, if i had money to do whatever i wanted with. I would replace the tips or just get the exaust done all over again. The opening for the A4 isnt that big so any muffler that has large tips is gonna look mad rice no matter how good the tips may look. lol. Remus tips or small, small foward facing ovals i think look the best.

Yeah ill add to this, dont buy the 14816 as well unless u want ricey tips.

how far do you have your tips sticking out? I think it would depend on how far back/in you position the muffler. I'm installing the 14816 this weekend so I'll see.
...I'm more concerned with the loudness; I heard they drone around 2500-3000 rpm in 5th really loudly (even with stock resonator in place) and this isn't something I desire at all. any testimonies??? lol.

i think the guy 2 up meant the 14861, cause the 16 are only 3.5" which is what i had and it looked good?

heres a really crappy picture of it

nooooooo, i got the 14861.... and it was a little big for the stock cutout, so i got the 14816 because it has smaller tips than the 14861!

I had this drone when I had the 14816 installed on my A4. It was between 60-70mph. But if you are standing still and punch it it sounds insane!!!

Here is a video:
