How do I remove the lining under the glovebox in my '95 A4?

I'm referring to the black plastic slatted lining with the little light in it.

Do I need to remove the glovebox? I have tried pulling and wiggling the lining it but it seems to be secured somehow?

gotta take the whole assembly out. its connected to the glovebox frame? i can't really explain it but it looks like a one time clip deal sort of how the door handles and door pockets are attached.
