Used car warranty question???
Hey guys i have a 2000 audi a4 2.8 v6 with 100k+ miles and just bought about a week ago. The dealer offered me a 5yr/100k mile warranty on my car but it isnt full motor or bumper to bumper that is where the conflict occurs. To get the warranty is $1500 and i am able to buy it but i dont want to waste my money if the parts they cover are cheap and easy to install or never fail in an Audi. I would much rather use the money for mods and pay maintenince out of pocket but want to know if this warranty is worth it.

ehhhh thats iffy, cause at the end it said that it doesnt warranty factory specified interval replacementitems i.e the water pump tensioner and timing belt, which are reccomended to be changed at or a little before the 100k mark... did they provide you with any maintenance records?
hmmm ask around on here to see how you check or if you can check on the condition of the timing belt... good luck man, if whoever owned it before you was smart they had it done around 90k hopefully they were smart.. good luck man
If you don't mind me asking, how much of a deal did you get on that car that you were willing to buy a 2000 with 100+k miles on it? Unless you got it for like $5,000 the car might not be worth it. You have to figure in that even with this warranty, there are going to be things that fail on this car pretty soon that you have to pay out of pocket for, which I'm sure are going to total a lot more then you may or may not have saved with the purchase of such a heavily used car. I'm not really sure of the track record of Audi's but timing belt, torque converter, and a few other parts listed there somewhat commonly need repairing. I doubt you're going to find many comprehensive warranty packages on a car with that many miles. I think what you should do is either a) bring the car back and spend a few dollars more for one with slightly better milage or b) if you can't afford to spend more, start looking at other cars that are lower in price. I think in the long run, waranty or not, its going to cost you a lot more then you think for this car.
