Default vacuum leak

00 Giac x+
keep getting the p1136 too lean code, did a boost leak test and i found a small vacuum hose in the back of the engine that was hanging by a thread, i think it goes to something called the combination valve for secondary air injection. Replaced that but i found a bigger hole. I am not sure what the actual part is, so my question is does anybody know what it is what it does. I put some gorilla glue one the hole hoping it would help until i get a new one but no luck. the part is located on the right side of the engine, underneath the intake manifold.
hope the picture helps
thank you.

im reviving this thread to try to resolve my issue, as i cant seem to find my original thread. I keep getting this code as well, and I found the broken hose anf replaced it with one from ecs and i erased the code after replacing and still after 20 min of driving, i get the same code again....assuming i have no vacuum leaks (i will double check that tomorrow) what else could it be??

You usually get that code with a vac leak. Since there are some many g' damn vac lines, you may want to spend a couple bucks and build a boost leak tester. That is a surefire way to rule out any leaks since they can be very small and hard to detect without pressure in the system. It wouldn't be a bad idea to check your MAF and see if your injectors are dirty, but I would "lean" (hehe no pun intended) on it being a vac leak somewhere.

*To use it, just remove the intake pipe from your turbocharger inlet, and attach this in its' place.*

When he says thin on his instructions does he mean the hose that goes front the stock airbox to the turbo?? thats the only hose i can think of that this would fit into...

Also, how does this method 'pressurize the system, if you doing it from the intake side? sorry for my noobisheness in this respect..

I don't know if you've already built that one but this one Myself and other members on the forums have had real good success with!
