cars have alot of valves, be sure of which one is actualy the problem before you go just replacing random crap. the valves in the head, the diverter valve, and the combi valve couldnt be more different in all aspects.

If it's a loud chattering noise, it's the combination (combi) valve.
If it's only when you let off the gas, it's the diverter valve.

You should get it scanned and get another opinion from a shop that specializes in Audis and VW's.

I can heard it when I stop at red lights, and when I park, not when its moving, so its gonna be the diverter valve right?

and actually i went to an European repair shop, but they didnt scan the car cuz i dont have a CEL, should I scan it even though I dont have a CEL?

I agree with him on the cam chain tensioner ^ Thats most likely what your hearing

That's exactly where the cam chain is located. The combination valve is also back there.

What exactly does it sound like? Clicking? Chattering? Metal on metal tapping?

Well he said that this happens when the car is hot, oil is obviously not getting up there since when oil heats up it thins and settles on the bottom. I think you're not getting oil to the top of your engine

I gave up on trying to diagnose what people hear, it seems that people have different ideas of what rattles/bangs etc sound like. It really takes a tuned ear to know what the sound is. Maybe you can post a sound clip of it for us? That would be nice.
