Default Warning Light- "Washer Fluid Low" HELP!

2000 Audi A4 Quattro 1.8t.

The yellow "Windshield Wiper Fluid Low" warning light is constantly on, and I can't get the darn thing to turn off. I checked the fluid level connector to the reservoir and the wires under the fender liner, and everything seemed ok. I even pulled the connector right off and crossed the wires (to trick it into thinking that the fluid level was above it), and it did not work.

My car is a bit different cause the replacement hood doesnt have washer nozzles. Could that have something to do with it? Any idea how to just manually turn off warning light? I checked the wire diagrams, but could not find a specific washer fluid warning light wire...

Any help would be MUCH appreciate.. its very annoying.

Regards,
Sean

Im sure a Vag-com could fix it. Check your blinker fluid that might be low to.

found this on yahoo after a quick google check

You can short the fluid sensor by pulling the wiring harness connector off of the sensor and run a short wire between the two female wire leads in the harness connectors

The sensor can be accessed by removing the driver side wheel and fender liner; the fluid level sensor is about 2/3 down the reservoir.

FWIW, what is leaking is the housing of the washer pump; on 2000 and 2001 A4s, cracked pump housings are fairly common. You can order a new washer pump from the dealer (costly) or from any reputable on line parts store (bimmerparts.com) ... simply pop the old one out and pop in the new pump (and O-ring).

i will keep looking
