Default Waterpump help...

I finally got the damn fan blades off, but now the fan clutch itself is in the way off removing the waterpump. Anyone got some tricks for getting the fan clutch off?

If I was just doing the TB and tensioner, I would be done by now. But no, I had to try the waterpump, thermostat, and all the seals too. I know once I'm done I'll be glad I did it all, but right now I'm regretting my decision, and really wish I had someone with a little AEB experience around!

You dont need to take that off. You have to take the whole mounting bracket for it off, as it sits on top off the water pump. Look under your alternator and you'll see what I mean. Also remember which bolts go where because they are all different lengths. If you need pics and stuff, you can find DIY's pretty easy, or im sure i have some pics that would help.

I googled a few DIY's and I think I found my answer (which is equally a pain in the ***). I need to remove the pulley off the pump, but the bolts are stuck pretty good, and I can't get enough counter-torque to keep the pump from spinning. Guess a few shots of PB Blaster and a new approach and I might get lucky.

I'll get through this eventually... meanwhile my new CAs sit in the box, waiting... mocking me

yea getting that pulley off is annoying, an electric impact gun works like a charm tho. If you dont have one, just bring it to a shop, it takes like 4 seconds lol.

Got it off, new pump, T-stat, belt and tensioner installed, along with the cam seal, crank seal, and intermediate seal. Now to button everything back together and cross my fingers. Gonna do the oil while I'm at it, once I'm done taking a little break...

you don't have to remove the entire waterpump, just remove the front which has the pully and pump on it, the rest is just the housing. I think there are 12 bolts on it.
