Default weird, complicated heating situation...help!!!

heres the deal guys...i had another thread, but wasnt getting much input. my car is blowing cool air, no heat. its getting hot coolant through the heater core. very hot. when i turn the heat on to come out of the dash, its cool air. the heat coming from the floor is warm though. not hot, but warm. does anyone think there is something behind the dash that is not working right? arent there some kind of valves that open different chambers and direct airflow different directions? maybe one of those arent working correctly? also, my car is a 96 a4. i got it about a month and a half ago. the guy i got it from said the interior was out of an s4. i attached pics of my interior, i dont think its the same as the regular stock a4. im wondering if its something behind the dash that maybe he didnt hook up correctly? the A/C doesnt seem to work correctly either. it looks like there are buttons for fog lights, but there are no fog lights on the car. and also the rear window defrost button doesnt seem to work either.... anyput will help.....thanks

You can scan the HVAC for codes with a VAG COM and see if there are codes to see if the blend door is screwed up. Im not sure how to get to it though, maybe someone will chime in. Are BOTH lines going to the heater core, or at least one hot and one warm?

i flushed out the heater core good on thursday. got some just out. wasnt REAL bad though. if your looking at the car from the front, the right hose going to the core is really warm, and so is the left one. the right is the inlet correct? i have no clue what to do..its getting cold here, and i got a 9 month old daughter to worry about keeping warm with me. i really dont want to take it to the dealer or anyone for that matter, if i can fix it myself. is the interior actually the interior out of an s4? a guy i work with has an 01 a4, and our interiors ARE different.

it might be out of an s4... is the wood real wood? but you def have a 2000 or 2001 double din and climate control swap in there

the wood trim is not real. its the fake stuff. ill do whatever i need to do to get my heat back. even if it is putting back in a 96 dash. i REALLY hope it doesnt come down to that though.

i forgot to mention, the heated seats dont work either. im really beginning to think its the climate control that is bad or not working correctly. but i did look some up on ebay, and people are selling the same thing i have, and claiming it came out of an a4, like 2000 and 2001.
