I have a strange problem, I just tried to start my Auto 2.6 V6 and on engine start a nasty scraping/grating noise comes from the engine bay. After a few starts I realised the noise appears only in Park & Neutral, while in gear it seem fine.
Then things got weirder, when engine is running most of my electrics don't work. Lights, indicators, heater, wipers.. etc. Power windows and instrument lights work.
But all electrics seem to work fine when engine is off.

Can anyone shed some light on this bizarre problem??

 

Ok, just got it diagnosed.
It's the ignition switch, it doesn't spring back after starting engine.

 

yea, thats a recal defet, dealership is required to fix it for free
