Hi, I just bought a 1998 a4 2.8 Avant. It has 203,000 miles on it and runs great. The only problem is, there is a weird whistle noise when i accelerate over 2000 rpms. I have cleaned the air filter and it has not stopped... Any suggestions??

 

well it might not be the following in your case but i ran into this before on my dads audi a4 it was the tensioner it makes this whine like sound kinda like its scratching something . that's all i can think off.

 

Do a vac leak check. Any idea when the vac lines were replaced last?
