My plan for today is to trouble shoot/fix my cruise control and hose down the back of my engine with degreaser to try to find where the damn oil leak is coming from. I've kind of grown accustom to the smell of oil when I hop into it but most females that I hang out with have started to question it. Also I need to start looking into doing ball joints in the front.

Well yesterday I changed out my oil.

I learned something pretty valuable though...

Changing my oil, ya know, doing my thing. Im filling up the crank and checking the dipstick to make sure i get the right amount in there. Finally when i think im at a good level, i check the dipstick, its right where it should be, then, i pop the dipstick back into the female piece and it clicks down maybe 3/4 of an inch. So i was getting an inccorect reading from the dipstick for the past 2 oil changes.

When i pulled out the dipstick to check again, i was incredibly over the max line. Then I had the messy task of draining some oil from the belly pan.

I know b5s have problems with the dipstick orange piece... but when you change your oil, make sure the female orange dipstick thinger is in there correctly so you dont overfill with oil!

I was prob running my car with too much oil for a while. Car feel different now... or is it a placebo effect?

I think I did the same thing on the last oil change. I was worried about my cat's but I do almost all highway driving so they should be fine. If not, time for some high flows and cat back because I miss having a distinctive exhaust note.
