I'm in the middle of doing my timing belt, took a time out to drink beer and double check the DIY guide. Also discovered that my valve cover gasket is leaking BADLY. Went to the Audi dealer here and they told me there's no part number for a replacement and to use silicone gasket maker. I'm AWM, the only oil pan gasket I can find online is for AEB. Anybody else run into this?

Chris, Audi went to all silicone gaskets with the B6s I think. When I wanted a new oil pan gasket for my 12v/30v frankenstein engine I had to use silicone gasket. Permatex sells an oil resistant formula that comes in a black tube.

i know for the 12vv6 it uses a gasket, and for the 30v it requires rtv. seems like same situation

Still cleaning up the oil lol. I've got it more apart now, starting to replace stuff and put **** back together now. Every time I take this car apart it reminds me why dealers charge $150/hr. for labor...

You fly me out, buy the kit, pay me/feed me/ house me, and I'll do it.
