Over the weekend I installed the JHM solid shift linkage upgrade to replace the rubber cross part on the shift linkage. Got rid of almost all the slop! This is combined with the JHM solid short-throw shifter (with metal-on-metal pivot); my shifter is tighter than a virgin on her wedding day.

Also put in my wideband gauge/sensor.

I'm making plans this coming Friday/maybe Saturday to swap back in all my upgraded engine components (FMIC, FrankenTurbo turbo/exhaust mani/TIP, high-flow cat, AFPR, fuel pressure gauge, GIAC PC-16 tune/315cc injectors, etc), since I had to put all stock components back in to pass smog testing.

EDIT: Can't forget that over the weekend I also changed out my front Kicker 4" speakers for some Kicker 5.25" speakers with the Autoleads adapter brackets. They do put out better bass So if anybody wants to buy 4" Kicker speakers with adapter brackets to directly fit into the front doors, I have some I'll sell you for a good price

wha-wha-WHAAAT?

Driving to work today, car starts bucking and misfiring under WOT. Pull over, scan it, come up with three misfire codes (multiple random, cyl 1 and cyl 2) and three O2 sensor codes (forget what they were now). To the google machine!

The speakers are totally intact and the way they were when purchased. The adapters are made from 1/8" thick polycarbonate. Can't get pictures today because they are at my parents' house and I won't be there until tomorrow. If you're still interested I'd be happy to get you some pics.

Yikes! But this reminded me that a true B5 owner will carry with them some way to scan for fault codes I keep a netbook under my driver seat and my VAG-COM cable in the glove box

Sure I'll get to it when I can. Have you seen the Autoleads 5.25" speaker adapters?

eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

That's what I'm using now, only ~$17 shipped and took a week to get from the UK to California. The speakers stick out more than my old 4" speakers did, which does make getting the door card on more of a challenge, but I accepted the challenge and succeeded.

looked at it, in a slightly disgusted way; the way you would look at your dog if he just **** on the carpet. You still love the dog, but in the back of your head, you really want to beat the **** outta him, then take him to the pound...
