I washed it and cleaned my hideously black wheels and now they sparkle
I did also get a snub. And, if this was a "what have you done to you wife's honda pilot" I'd be more active in it

Today was a day off for me because at work we get our birthdays off (my b-day was actually Saturday).

So I was busy working on my A4, of course. First thing, added in a modified turbo-to-exhaust-manifold gasket, as I didn't have one in there (wanted to try that out).

Spent most of the day messing with wiring to convert my car from a cluster with only dummy lights, to a cluster with a LCD screen The new LCD screen I soldered in last week works perfectly too! All the wiring worked out of the first try... had to change out the wiper arm with one that has up/down/reset buttons, had to add 4 wires to the wiper arms connector, added in a wire to the ECU that allows the cluster to gather fuel consumption information, and grounded the wires that are used to indicate bulb out and low washer fluid. Yay! Now I'm gonna send out that cluster to have its mileage changed to zero so I can reset it to my car's actual mileage.

The kid selling it was from Durham, we met up in Lee acoupla weeks ago. I live in Nottingham which is a small town trapped between Northwood, Raymond, and Epping. Hopefully this 'was not the spoiler you were looking for' (inastormtroopervoice)

whereabouts you from?

- did the grounding work? to kill the warning lights?
- where did you tap the ecu for fuel consumption
- you can swap eeproms. its whats holds the mileage in your cluster. would be free and not need resetting

-The grounding did work! No warning symbols. Also, I coded out the brake pad wear sensors in VAG-COM... so the grounding effectively removed the codes for bulb out (brake and headlights) and windshield washer fluid low.

-I tapped into pin 18 on the longer ECU connector, the yellow wire. This wire actually goes to a brown connector behind/below the ECU, so I snipped the yellow wire out of that connector and extended the wire to connect it to the cluster. Haven't tested this out yet because I don't want to put any miles on that cluster.

-Do you have more information on this? I'm very capable at soldering. I was planning on sending $40 with my cluster to a guy who can reset the mileage to zero, but if possible I'd definitely like to do it myself! (And save the shipping time...)

awesome that the grounding worked. I'm walking out there to do it now. I can't wait to have accurate fuel readings in the MFA
heres a link the only important thing is the picture, works fine and saves $40
