Dude that thing was jaw-dropping. Lol I didn't even care about the SL, which normally is a car I love. But the T-Bird was out of this world. And yeah, I'm really pleased on the wheel find. Didn't even try and talk him down. $150 was plenty fair. And they actually look cool in a B5 in an old-school kind of way.

Pulled off the rear wheels and sprayed the spindle joints with penetrating oil to prepare for my wheel bearing change, rotated the tires front to the rear, cleaned out my spare tire well in the trunk, checked all tire pressures, and drained a little coolant (I had topped it off last night with the front end on ramps, whoops.)

WHERES THE SL

probably one of the greatest cars of all time. thats held its own throughout the years. I was watching a top gear on the old 50 SL with the first gull wing doors, friggen amazing.

Lol the SL was definitely nice, but it was a typical 05 red/tan 500. Nice car for sure, nothing exceptional compared to any other. The bird though was stunning.

Picked up my new key from the dealer and programmed it myself in about a minute. Saved $175 bucks

Also just swapped out my radio. I bought one of the double din symphony radios from ECS when they were like $30 just to have a spare. Got my car back from NGP yesterday and it was stuck in safe mode (done that several times before) so I just swapped them. Love when planning ahead pays off!

Did most of the driver side control arms. Just gotta drop the subframe to remove the bolt for the lower rear control arm.

After this.... I'm gonna slap the wheels back on and gonna drive it to a nearby mechanic and have him go at the passenger side. Before the next time I have to replaace this control arms, I'm buying a f'ing new kia instead. F'this stupid car.

Doing the control arms for the first time really made me hate audi.

HAHAHA thats grand.
Why tho they really are not that bad.
But I think everyone hates the Audi while working on it, that is until they drive it, then they fall back in love.

Installed a Pioneer head unit that I scored off of cl....Cheap upgrade ftw!
The kid was an Audi guy too, had a nice 99 1.8tqm. He just did his ca's and gave me a lower left that he didn't use. I'd say it was worth the half hour trip.
