i was rewiring my rear speakers a third time (this time they worked properly) and when i took off the plastic piece on the pillar, i noticed that there was a pair of some sort of electronic components near the top. they looked kind of like lights to me, and my brother guessed that they were microphones for the phone function in the car. any ideas as to what they are?

 

were they red and yellow? they're your fm and am receivers

phil: good point, i always seem to forget pics when ime doing car work. too late to get effective pics (only have a phone camera with no flash) but if you go to this website (http://www.audiworld.com/tech/int51.shtml) in the third to last picture down to dude is pointing at one of the two things.

 

hmmm im thinking i have to agree with hiwords... but lol at the dudes feet in the pics haha

 

those look like the motion sensors for the alaram. if you were to flip over the trim in that picture you'd see three slots over each of those little sensors. I looked for a picture of them but can't find one, I'll take one on my lunch break.
