Default What is the real name of this "doohicky"?

I swiped this pic from a google search my apologies to the rightful owner.

On the car I just bought I unwrapped a wad of duct tape "tasteful black" to find the part that I circled in BLUE to find it rotted away. It is a vacuum hose but what do I tell the parts guy/gal?

Probably the Y hose on the back of the intake manifold or a check valve. Just guessing since I can't see the pic. Best thing to do, if it is a Y, or L shaped hose or check valve is to go to the dealer. It'll be cheap enough there, and they can identify it immediately.

It's a check valve. Make sure you get the updated one.

Cost somewhere around $30-40 at the dealership.
