what would it take to get these (hp)numbers?
For that price you should go apr for just a little more. At least then the normal housingallows you to upgrade down the road to a RSto 3076r
Hell, you can can put together a much nicer kit with a 034 tube manifold and dp with a GT turbo for the same price. You just have to know what you need for goals and whats best for you

and second, the APR stage 3 kit uses a t25 flanged manifold for their gt28r turbo. not 28rs.. so unless you make an adapter plate, or get a hybrid t25 flanged 30 series, you're going to change out the manifold anyways
Thanks guys,
Looking at this it's more clear now, I wanted 280-300hp, so basically the closest I can get without a turbo upgrade is 220hp, and that's not close enough for me.
So it seems my options are one ofgtrs, t3t4 or t3s60 for $2500 (including fmic and injectors, chip, little bits). To get to about 300, but then I need to upgrade my clutch for about 600$
So $3100 plus install, which is another what... 800$ maybe? Plus tuning
Basically $4000 total. Cost to sell my car (2000 1.8T sport winter package and 50K miles)and buy an S4 is also about $4000, so this is a tough decision, as I wanted to wait until I could afford a B6 S4 before selling.
Hmmm... .this leaves me with a lot to think about

first off cincy, i NEVER said to go to PES' website and spend the astronomical price to get their kit new. i said "PEICE TOGETHER YOUR OWN KIT". you can find all the components seperate new/used for MUCH cheaper. it's not rocket science..

PES 28r (nonDBB BTW if its a T28)

DBB gt28r

Wow,I just noticedthat you dont know1/2 of what you think you doabout turboswith your T25 response. A T25 housing is a T25 housing for all GT turbos. The gt28r and all other GT T25 turbos use the same flange and 5blot outlet. They are ALL interchangeable. You can swap from a gt25r to gt3076r using the same manifold and dp. The ONLY differnce in the turbine housings is the space machined for the turbine wheel. You even argued about T25 3071r's a couple days ago... You are either SEVERLY confussed or just full of it.
Oh, and i said with the apr stg3 he could UPGRADE to the a RS (gt28rs) to a gt3076r.
Next time READ and know what the hell your talking about. .
lol the arguments between you 2 will never end
in Sean's defense- he said you would have to get an adapter plate if you upgraded to a 30 series which normally use t3 housings. or you could get a 30 series with a t25 flange and keep the same manifold
and zoidberg- you also have to take into account an s4 is much more expensive to maintain. higher insurance, gas, repairs and mods. you pretty much have 2 of everything relating to the turbos, and working on the 2.7 is way harder than the 1.8 so if you dont do the work yourself getting work done will be more expensive. i was thinkin bout switchin to an s4 too, but its just out of my price range right now. maybe when im older

Like I said 3x before, you can get a 3076r in a T25 housing and replace the gt28r that comes with a apr kit. There is 2 people doing that as we speak on vortex. One is a A4 and the other is a gti. A T3 housing is a better option for a gt30 series turbo, but if your locked in a T25 manifold and downpipe you can use them
cincy, you just started an argument agains me. and then answered your own argument against me before i could even respond..
wow, you really have some insecurity issues to go off like that. are you really that sad?

i like that part about you implying the T28 is a bad turbo since it's non DBB when you are quoted all over this place saying that a non DBB turbo is not really anywhere behind a GT DBB turbo as far as quality and spool time..
make up your mind dude

Ummm, take a look at the PES manifold and turbo again. The flange is turned 90* so no other turbo will work. You cant reuse the housing on another gt28 turbo since the gt28r actually uses a gt25 turbine wheel and a 60mm compressor wheel like a gt2860r aka gt28rs. So your stuck.
