what should the audi a4 1.8t be when warm mine is 1k? maybe 1,100rpm i think its to high i might have a vacuum leak bc i misfire here and there at idle.

 

no one?.. can some one just check your own audi a4 1.8t and check what rpm does it seat on when car is on neutral when its warm do not cold start. any one plz? real simple thing to do.

 

I think mine is around 800-900, if your car is in good shape the rpm's should almost never move at idle I believe. I know when I start my car it hits about 1200 then lowers til 1000 until its warm then drops below 1k.

 

ok sweet thank you for the reply ok so mine goes up 1,200 - 1,300 rpm and then when its warm it seats at 1,000 but i never seen it drop to 800-900 so maybe i do have a vacuum leak or something when am in idle my car has this pop like sound on the exhaust and at times a clear baby misfire and its noticeable bc i have open down pipe right now so its easy to hear it, no CEL i only got it one time misfire cylinder 2 but it was in cold start as soon as the car turn on but never did it again.

ok thanks let me try to check exhaust leaks before the 02 sensor, vacuum leaks etc etc to see if i find anything and see if the rpms go down to normal.

my car is in perfect conditions only has 4,000 miles on the engine i just probably miss something when i put it all back together or a hose or check valve might be broken.

 

solve! small leak on a hose that got a small cut and a bad primary 02 sensor . finally got codes for it on pending.
