Wheel Bearing
So the left rear wheel bearing is busted in my 98 v6 quattro. The dealership wants like 350 to replace it. so I'm thinking of buying the bearing and get a mechanic to do it. But I'm kinda confused. The tech article on AudiWorld says the front bearing is part# 8D0598625A and the rear one is part #4B0498625A. However, on most online stores it says that the rear on is 8D0598625A. I'm confused as to which on to get. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also, this one says it fits both front and rear. Any ideas?

Visit ecs tuning and navigate to your make and model. When the screaming banshee shows up here comes another bearing.
I also did my rears recently. All you have to do is remove the wheel carrier. First, make sure to loosen the bolt that connects the wheel to the CV axle. If I remmember I needed a 23mm impact socket and a breaker bar to get it loose. Then get the car up on a jack and remove the wheel and caliper. Then remove the wheel carrier by disconnecting all of the bolts from the suspension and removing the bolt that attaches to the CV axle. I took my entire wheel carrier to a shop and had them press out the old bearings and press in the new ones and then reinstalled everything myself. Good luck. You will eventually become and expert at this since our cars eat wheel bearings for fun!!
