i have the carbio intake system and im gettin a check engine light dont know what to do only hose i cant use is the according black snake hose is still open dont no what to do with it i have a 2000 a41.8t please help/.. i beleive it goes to the s.ap. if im correct can you remove that or just let it go but doesnt that get dirt and everything to the secondary air pump thanks again anything helps

 

That code is for an incorrect SAP airflow. The only way the Carbonio intake couldve done it is if you got crap in the SAP from having the pipe unfiltered. Go to the parts store and get a small cone breather filter for $10 and put it on the SAP feed hose. Clear the code and see if it comes back. If not, you're likely ok. If it does you'll probably need another SAP. You can delete it with the blockoff plate and resistor from 20Square but if you have any emissions testing in your state you'll fail since the kit only eliminates one of the two codes you'll get.

Does the car sound like a shop vac when it's cold-started? That's a sure sign the pump is on its way out.

 

thanks thats exactly what i was thinking so that opening from the the factory intake had a spot for the sap tryed to go to advance and auto zone to find a breather hose put on but none of them worked have to make 1 for my car but right now i put a long sock over top of it to act like a filter im goin to use the scanner 2mrrow and seee if that is the problem what did you use for yours i live in pa we dont have emissions in my county but for the pump its quiet its not making any noises let me know either on here or pm me thanks bro..

 

I used the mini cone filter - I had to wrap the base several times with duct and electrical tape to thicken it, then forced it into the feed tube and zip tied it to secure it. It's a good sign that it may not be near death. With the emissions, I didn't mean a tailpipe sniffer - if they scan your car for codes, there'll be a code in there due to the delete that will cause you to fail.
