Who wants a heat shield?
Isn't that kinda like Kraft suing wal-mart for making "replica" macaroni and cheese? I mean, he's not selling them with the BlinkTek brand name on it...
I don't know, just playing devil's advocate here.
But, at the same time, threatening to take legal action on the open forum is a pretty douchebag thing to do... I think a PM to Mellowman and subsequent conversations would have been more appropriate in private.
Just saying.
Obviously your very first post in 2007 was probably about your heat shield. But that was years ago, and probably lost somewhere deep. So you could always start a thread talking about the "Original" BlinkTek heat shield.
But, I am not a copyright lawyer, so I don't really know that potential outcome of all of this. But, I'm pretty sure a "copyright" is for intellectual property (i.e. books, music, etc.) and a PATENT is for actual designs and physical inventions...
And if you don't actually have one, then it's fair game.

It's a replica shield, I am in no way trying to trying to steal from you. No ones heard from you in awhile and people were still looking for shields so I was just trying to help out the community. Furthermore, I have not sold a heatshield using Blinktek's name and have used my own materials and dimensions meaning that these heatshields are my own personal design. No reason to post this up here though, I'll shoot you an email.

00black1.8t - do you have a patent on the design? Copyrights usually just cover written works. patents are for the products or design itself. A trademark would assure he can't use the name. I don't think meloman is doing anything wrong in the least, unless you have a patent on the design of your heat shield.
ha actually at the bottom of the blitek page his products are patented. Meloman you have to stop obviously but it was really nice of 00black to first ask you to stop vs suing you. and just for reference "infringement" not enfringment. you want to sure someone for the correct reasons.
For those interested I have contacted him and trying to work it out. Saying "blinktek replica" may not have been the best choice of words as i never had ill intent or tried to sell mine as being Blinktek. Whatever the outcome is I will let you guys know.
