Hey guys,

Thanks for the welcome. To each his own but I think sunroofs are pointless. I do enjoy convertibles as long as they have four seats (like the 03/04 mustang cobra conv). I would enjoy being a passenger in the backseat of such a car as well as driving 4/5 friends somewhere fun in great weather.

Sunroofs add weight at the wrong place -yes it does make a difference that I can feel in daily driving. This is not the same as adding/subtracting the same amount of weight from the gut of the car. Less body roll, etc, i just don't like sunroofs. I'm a purist and will think a car is rare and beautiful if it doesn't have a sunroof.

Basically I was looking to buy a white 1.8t with no sunroof. I guess it would be extremely hard to get my hands on one. I'm working on a few other projects as well. =)

I ordered my B5 without a sunroof since dont like them. Plus no sunroof allows for more head room in the B5.

I would suggest just getting the B5 you like even if it had a sunroof and replace the sunroof with the CF sunroof delete, but at this time the company that was making them has vanished.

BTW without the sunroof the car has a lower center of gravity.

That is interesting, my 99 2.8 had a sun roof. and from what i could see that was stock, however i just bought a 06/99 2.5TDI, and it doesn't have a sun roof, or leather seats, which isn't a big deal, personally not having a sun roof is alright, there would be so many times when the weather was alright, and i would leave it partially cracked to let all the dry heat escape, which was nice in 90-100degree weather. However, it eventually started to have faults, it would open halfway, then close, then open up, then close and open all the way.. kinda difficult when all i wanted was some top breeze instead of a blast of air. i see a lot of 1.8T's here in Germany, not sure if they have sun roofs or not. probably not with all the rainy weather we get all the time.

nothing really "special" per say, other than the fact that its a weight saver I guess. They're just far more rare because to get one w/o a sun roof they had to be ordered that way, which didn't happen very often. This is also the reason sport cloth seats are rare, they had to be ordered.

Hey man,

Yes you are special. Those cars are rare simply because everyone wants leather and a sunroof. Anyway, do you have any emissions problems running that testpipe? Especially because you're in cal.

I just love my sunroof on Audina, it doesn't leak at all, works every single time when i tilt it open or open it all the way.

Brotha...when you got a hot toddy in the passenger seat in the summer, got the Pioneer double din DVD playing a movie for her, coastin in the park with the sunroof all the way open with the cool breeze sweep'n in and then you slick your hair back and move your arm around this blazin shortie you got sitting next to you...You're like...B5 is live yo!
