Default will bilstein shocks from an '01 fit a '99?

I'm working on a deal with a guy selling his neuspeed/bilstein setup. Only problem is he is an '01 and I'm a '99. I'm quattro, I think he is as well. i realize that if he is not, it will be different, but let's just assume he's quattro. Will I have fitment issues? I've been looking at part# comparasions on various websites, and there seems to be no difference. What do you think?

problem rectified. They will fit, but the guy at Bilstein says not to do it, it can cause big problems down the road. Guess I'll have to go with these

what kind of problem did the bilstein guy mention? Was it cause they were used or are they NIB?

The perches between 06/00 and earlier models and 07/00 and later models are different, which would cause a change in ride height when a later model shock was placed on an earlier model car, leading to problems later down the road.
