YES!!! im finished haha... but ive noticed that the front windows are slower than the rears... is that just cuz the motor or what?

 

come to think of it i believe my front windows run a little slow, I'll be getting into my car in an hour, I'll let you know then.

My regulator on my front passenger side window (actually, that dumb green clip) broke about 7 weeks ago on my 96 A4. I just got the car over the summer from my aunt, it's not in the best of shape, and slowly thing have been breaking. just dropped 600 dollars to fix a hole in my oil pan when i bottomed out, the sun roof doesnt open, the head lights are so yellowed that i can barely see light out of them, and my ceiling fabric is begining to droop so yeah, fun stuff. and me being a college student i have neither the time or funding to sufficiently fix all this. But the regulator is a high priority on my list and after reading your posts, i found this:

Thanks to the very explanatory DIY previously posted on this thread, i was able to change my regulator with relative ease. However, with the new regulator "the one touch roll up" feature doesnt work as it did with my old regulator. Is it due to me missing something while changing the regulator or is it a part issue. I bought the replacement regulator from rockauto.com with part no (DORMAN Part # 740496 {#8D0837461} ). Also whoever is planning on doing this in the future, when you are putting a new regulator on, if you want to save your strength trying to put those thick rivets in, I used 1/4 in nuts and bolts and didnt have an issue.

 

Hold the button up or down for a few seconds after the windows is fully open or shut. Feature should resume working.
