i got 97 2.8 also and performance wise no its not worth it maybe high flow cats and exhaust but visual wise i would def modify is. Headlights tint rims smoke tails debadge it lower is HID it and your good too go.

is it possible to get rid of those 2 little audi emblems on the sides of the car below the signal lights?

removing them requires body work, the badge has a hole under it, its not stuck on like the rear badges.
